After eleven and a half years Dallas has finally been able to create a bike/pedestrian bridge over Mockingbird Lane connecting the Katy and Ridgewood Trails. The bridge - sort of a Lefty cable stay design - opened this afternoon (11/02/17). I've fixed the route map to pass over the bridge rather than take to the side streets & cross Mockingbird Lane at the nearby signaled intersection.

PS - Got some spare change? The new bridge's naming rights are for sale!

PPS - The bridge is impressive and will be an icon for decades to come. Gotta wonder, though, how many pre-fab, out-of-a-catalog path bridges could have been purchased for the same trouble and expense and emplaced for connectivity improvements all over town?
