White Rock Creek Trail down to the start of either of the routes I sketched.

Adding that newly defined starting point to the second route I offered, and taking the alternate for the Grand Prairie to d/t Fort Worth section, I get ~62 miles: ~5 miles on multi lane thoroughfares, ~20 miles on secondary/residential streets and the rest on paths or bike lanes.

For comparison, it's ~33 miles from d/t Dallas to d/t Fort Worth via Highway 180 (Fort Worth Ave-Davis-Main-Division-Calhoun-Lancaster), all higher speed multi-lane thoroughfare with occasional miserably paved shoulder.

One could take DART Redline from Forest Lane to Union Station and the TRE* to d/t Fort Worth. Both transit systems haul bikes. Yeah, that's not really a bike ride, but once you arrive in Panther City there'd be some very nice urban riding to be had.

*but not on Sundays.
