I'm building up a 1989 Trek 970 MTB frame that has top tube cable routing. All the bikes I've had before ran the derailleur cables under the bottom bracket. I can see how the rear shift cable will run down the seat stay to the derailleur but I can't figure out how to run the front der. cable. I don't see any cable housing stops on the seat tube.
Do I just run the housing all the way from the cable stop at the rear of the top tube to the front derailleur? Or maybe I should add some kind of bolt on cable housing stop on the seat tube.
There is what looks like a bushing bolted to the back of the bottom bracket shell. Would that be for turning the cable up toward the derailleur? I am using a Deore front derailleur which is supposed to be capable of bottom or top pull routing.
- Thanks
