That is good news! I had to throw a washer on the axle when I upgraded my Fuji from 6-7spd due to the larger freewheel so I am glad I won't have to mess around too much with the newer cassette wheels.
I am planning on using the handlebars and shifters from the salvaged Trek 5200.
Are there steel frames out here with non-slotted drop outs? I like the newer ones where the wheel just sits in and I do not have to eye-ball the rear wheel alignment each time I install it.
