You hit the nail on the head. The people who spend $5,000+ on a bike are the type of people who are attracted to a velodrome and the type of people Lexus want to attract. Besides, Lexus is using it for private events during the north american car show in a few weeks.

Yes the irony, The Lexus velodrome is visible from Ford Field, or the GM Renaissance center, and right next to the Chrysler freeway. ;-)
