I think you're dead on. His photos stand on their own without requiring one to be a bike geek to appreciate. I'd like to add that he's an extremely nice person as well. I met him at FFD this last October. One of @nlerner's buddies has a Chapman, he road with us on our bike trip and couldn't say enough nice things about him.
