Split Families
Ok, maybe it's the whole opposites attract thing but my wife and I have totally different attitudes towards transportation. I commute by bike, run errands on my bike and generally avoid driving whenever I can. My wife hates to bicycle, would rather walk or run for exercise but depends on her car for transportation. She chalks my bicycle commuting up as another one of my numerous eccentricities. This divide has spread to my kids. My oldest won’t ride; my youngest loves to ride and is learning how to wrench on my old Gary Fisher. Is anyone else in a similar situation, where one half of your household just doesn’t get the desire to do without a car?
