All-Purpose Touring Pedal that Won't Injure My Shins

I've used MKS Sylvans with metal half clips for years, but recently looked down at my beat-up shins. Both sides of the pedals have a grippy metal surface when, due to use of the clips, I only require one side. Can anyone guide me in the direction of pedals that may accommodate the half clips, AND be smooth and less hazardous on the non-grip side? Thanks in advance!
