If the components are in good shape except for the chain and cassette and it shifts nicely I would put the value at about the asking price. I do agree with the others that it likely needs more than just a chain drive train wise in which case I would pass it could easily cost $200 plus to get it up to good riding shape if the shifter's and other drive components have significant wear.
