I've heard this a few times around here, but don't have any real issues with the SRAM chain currently on the bike. Except for that irritatingly designed quicklink, which I removed entirely. Hell, I've got chainbreakers.
But why the hate for these chains? Is it gonna ransack my house one day while I'm out?
