No its not worth it as detailed on your other posting.

You need to aim higher. Your time is valuable too. Get a nice Japanese butted cromoly frame, with good components, three piece alloy crankset, alloy stem, seat post, rims, and handlebars.

Entry level from that era was really low end.


The SSK has all of the "avoid items" on it. Steel bars and seat post, stamped drop outs, high ten steel frame, steel rims, stem shifters, claw RD hanger, nutted axles, steel chain rings. Some had a cottered crank, later ones didn't. When a bike has one or two items on the avoid list, it can still be worth it. When just about everything concerning the bike is on the avoid list, its to be avoided.
