The same Shimano item part # can be made in several different counties, as they move production around to improve costing I guess, it should also have a year mark, (alphabet code) & country of manufacture.

Here in Asia Shimano parts can be seen Made in - Japan - Singapore - Malaysia - China, maybe other countries, I also have a set of these on one of my spare XC bikes those are made in Malaysia, & work fine.
