I assembled the bottom bracket, correctly, and then the head set. It's really interesting to see how simple yet how much goes into tolerating forces while steering.

It wasn't a horrible noise. Spinning the forks. Almost a grind? Almost. Like what air would sound like if it were metal and passing over metal. Drag. That's what it was.
So I thought about bearings.. Cages. I took the head set apart again and counted. Bearing, with cage, three spacers next set. Ok. What?
The difference is not in the frames, it's in the bearings. Low end to top end. So I'm going to swap out all the cages with free bearings. Little larger in the bottom cup. Crazy more bearing.
Set my bearings free.
Free range bearings.
