Except....honestly even within a single season Star Trek has never really had continuity of narrative. Episodes are generally interchangeable and can be watched in any order, even within a single season, nvm across seasons...the only possible issues causing confusion being the odd star-cast character deaths, and the odd standard uniform/prop change....the only real exception being the DS9 Dominion War plot.
