I've always said that carbon seatposts are a waste of money on a MTB. The Thomson posts are usually LIGHTER than carbon and won't break as easily. I can tell you one thing I don't want to have a colonoscopy performed by a broken CF post.
That plus the fact that carbon posts on a freeride bike is just plain stupid from the get go
