I see the Euro # 1 and 4 but I don't see anything that says we can buy them, are they downloadable ? Are there anything like the ACA maps for Europe? I have found the Sustrans but that's for the UK ?
Is there a better way than I am considering?

Rowan and I rode part of it. We started in Bordeaux, cycled out to Lacanau Ocean on a paved cycling path ... that was great!! And then headed north to La Rochelle.
It's a part of France we would love to return to. We've even talked about renting a house there for a while.
As for the route, we were able to pick up a couple maps in Lacanau Ocean which were just fine.
However, that website above allows you to print off details from each of the sections. Have a browse around that website.
