I have an older Campy chorus ti seatpost on my road bike. It's great but harder to fine tune than a Thomson. I can't say I notice any difference in ride but this is on a steel road bike.

Word of caution, I saw a generic ti seatpost on eBay for around $75. Looks great and is nice and light. It has the exact same clamp mechanism that I had on an aluminum seatpost that failed me with under 30 miles riding. Don't consider that model an option.
