Swapped the crankset on my Trek 716 to a SunXCD with Velo Orange 46/30 chainrings. Much more pleasant to ride!

The old gearing was 52/42 with a 13-24 cassette in the back. I really love this old UniGlide hub because it is almost completely silent when coasting, but UniGlide cassettes are pretty pricey, and regardless, I only have one chain whip, so in order to get the gearing to something more reasonable I swapped the crankset. Of course, spending ~$200 in order to avoid changing out a cassette seems a little ridiculous, but I like the close ratios on the back and I wanted to try a "subcompact double".

Very slow 12 miles on a windy fall day. I also forgot to lower my saddle since I went to longer crank arms on the newer crank, but I can't blame my lack of energy and lackadaisical pace on that.

And boy, does my touch up paint look awful.
