I'm putting a parts list together for a 1957 PLX10 build and in the process of touching up areas of exposed frame. I've been holding the frame for sometime and have a lot of 1960's PX10 components that I'm going to repurpose for this build until I can one day find the original parts.
What I don't have at the moment are the following and need to know if these were the correct parts so I can start looking:
1. Headset - I think the proper was the Stronglight P3 threaded 1x25?
2. Crank - Stronglight 49D.
3. Rear Derailleur - (Juy Simplex 61) I think this was the correct model. But, I will need a replacement for now. The Juy Simplex are too expensive and willing to use replacement part that I can use with my current wheels. (5 speed Mavics).
This is what I have for the build
1. Handlebars and Stem
2. MAFAC Dural Forge brakes, Front and rear with levers.
3. ATOM Pedals
4. Wheel are: Mavic Montlery Championnat du Monde, Normandy Lux hubs with a 5 speed. These are 70's tubulars but I will need to use these.
5. Ideal Saddle
6. Simplex Seatpost.

As far as paint, has anyone been successful in touching up the blue metallic from the late 50's? I just want to recondition the pain.
