Need help identifying and dated a Sancineto frame

I'm still in disbelief that this beauty was donated to the local bike co-op where I volunteer yesterday. My shop manager texted me the picture as soon as it arrived. Information seems scarce on Sancinetos, so any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated. Does the serial number follow trend in indicating the year it was manufactured (1996)? Also, any idea what the original spec may have been on the parts? Right now, everything left on there seems to be Campagnolo Chorus. (Okay, it's just the cranks.) Thanks as always for your help!
