I forgot entirely about the Mk.I - it differs so much from the subsequent generations. Bocama lugs, wraparound caps, centerpull stops, sloping crown. It's all there. You're absolutely right.

The Prestige's fork crown tapers between the headtube and blades. The crown on the OP's bike does not; it's a Davis crown (as at right):
