I was scrolling down through the replies to see if anyone else would point this out.
If they are mini-v's they are more compatible with non-v levers, and which makes the "cantilever" description somewhat more appropriate imo.

Made in Aisia? Almost certainly. Should be (or was) an origin sticker on the box somewhere.
