On a side note, this thread has gotten me interested in old Trek 500-600 series steel builds. I used to work in a Trek shop in the '90's, and the nomenclature had totally changed by then. I think the 520 was one of the only bikes numbered below 700 by that time (maybe also a 420 or a 300-something?), and numbers 700 and up were then used for Hybrids. 800 series were MTB. Numbers in the hundreds were typically steel, and the thousands were aluminum or carbon fiber or composite.
True story. I wish my 620 was your size, I'd trade you.
