As Msbiker stated, you might want to avoid rush hour times if possible. Generally the closer you are to town (any town on the Trace) the heavier the traffic. Traffic also can be fierce out towards the reservoir on weekends and during evening rush. Don't know much about fishing, but I would expect traffic near the reservoir would pick up around March with folks beginning to enjoy the lake more.
