Tires change from model rears to new versions/choices. Generally rims will see any number of tires over the miles. Perhaps what future tire width you might be considering should be at play.

I take tire and rim width recommended combos to be as much about trends as they are about actual tire fit. I've toured on fat "32" tires mounted on Mavic MA2s (22mm outer width) for thousands of miles with no issues. Andy
