ok, here's my problem with the aluminum sandwich. I get that it's supposed to act as a heat sink, but where is the heat supposed to go? I think in formula one, they use the same technology, except the middle part is actually porous, such that forced convection from the air can be spun out and cool the hot aluminum. With the "ice tech" rotors, you don't see this. the heat is trapped in the aluminum, with the only way out being the outer edge, or the fins, if there are any, and the RT86 ice tech rotors don't seem to have these. so what gives?
I found these other ones, which supposedly doesn't have the aluminum sandwich, though I don't think their performance would be any worse
