1982 Romic Custom Touring - Revitalized

Hi everyone!

I'd like to share some pictures of my 1982/81 Romic. This was a custom frame design for Harley's Cycle Supply in Hutchinson, Kansas. I overhauled most of the original components and had Ed Litton repair one of the rear cantilever bosses.

Parts list:

Frame/Fork: Romic Custom Touring
Tubing: Reynolds 531 all around
Headset: Campagnolo Nuovo(?) Record
Stem: Nitto Technomic
Handlebars: Nitto Noodle
Front Rack: Nitto M12
Decaleur: by @gugie
Bag: Gilles Berthoud GB25
Cages: King Cage Iris
Seatpost: 27.2 Campagnolo Super Record
Saddle: Original Brooks Professional from '81
Brake Levers: Cane Creek SCR-5
Pedals: MKS EZY-Superior Touring NEXT
Crankset: Campagnolo Triple with 48, 42 and Jim Merz 31t inner.
Bottom Bracket: Phil Wood
Shifters: SunTour Bar-Con's
Rear Derailleur: Campagnolo Rally with new SOMA bearings.
Front Deraileur: Campagnolo Record 4-hole
Wheelset: Phil Wood hubs, Wolber Super Champion rims, SunTour Perfect FW
Tires: Compass Bon Jon Pass 700x35
Brakes: Shimano MC-70

Here it is the day before Eroica California 2019;

And here are a few more photos before I finished building it back up.

Finally, here are a few scans of some documentation that was handed down by the original owner. Receipts, geometry, pretty cool!

I'm curious about converting to 650b. The cantilever bosses are set up for 27" so braking isn't optimal on 700c wheels. The paint isn't in perfect condition but it's good enough to make me feel bad about ruining it. Any thoughts?
