"Ironman"? Are you doing just the bike leg from a full Ironman event, others are doing all 3 or picking the parts they are interested in?
I did a beachrun-bike-run 'duathlon' a couple times, and that was kinda cool (operated in tandem with a regular triathlon), but would never do a triathlon because I have zero interest in swimming. If I could cherry-pick 2/3 of, say, a sprint triathlon I might be interested.
