Frame Size help please

New here, from South Africa
Looking for advise please on finding the right size frame for my next bike. I am stuck in the middle of frame sizes and not sure which way to go.
Current bike: Silverback Sirelli 2 road bike - Size L - 56cm
Top Tube: 560
Reach: 396
Headtube length: 150
Seattube length: 563
90cm stem
Looking to buy Swift Carbon - Ultravox SSL - Size M - 54cm
Top Tube: 553
Reach: 388
Headtube length: 147
Seattube length: 540
100-110cm stem
I am testing a Swift Size large at the moment with a 90mm but the reach to the brake hoods are just too far, I would need to use a 60-70mm stem to be ideal fit.
Need advise from the more experienced please. My gut tells me to go with a Medium frame Swift and run longer stem and 1 x additional 3-5mm headspacer if needed to bring the front end height up.
