Depends where exactly the incident was. If it was literally at that intersection, I cannot understand how it happened, as that portion is straight, with good visibility. I was surprised when I read about this accident, as I don't understand what could have happened on that section of the road. Could the car have been turning out from the side road and hit him? If it's after the crest of the hill, all bets are off. I halfway expect to come around that fast descent around the corner by the Hole and see a cyclist or car on my side of the road. I generally slow down through there, because it is very narrow, and if a car is occupying the middle of the road, it can be deadly.
