US Amateur Nationals

I attended the US National's criterium race in Hagerstown MD. I thought it might include pros but later learned the pro championships were the next week in Knoxville TN. Anyway it was an exciting race with the whole pack skillfully navigating the tight course. Winner Justin Williams (California) was very impressive, covering the breaks mid-race & won final sprint by a wide margin. Not so many spectators, most were friends/relatives of racers plus some locals enjoying the spectacle.

Anyone go to Knoxville for the pro championships? For me the 15 hr round-trip drive was a bit too much. Was pretty cool back when Philly hosted the pro road race championships: strong int'l fields & huge enthusiastic crowds like we'll probably never see again in the USA.
