I've been thinking to try Folsom Rodeocross this fall, because it looks like fun, it's inexpensive and local. Thing is, I'm a recent heart surgery patient, probably lifetime on a beta blocker, and in shape that you might call rounded... and none of these things are likely to change. Is it ok to go out and race in the beginner class or wherever they decide to shuffle me, with no real hope or intention of moving up?
I used to race R/C cars, and I knew there were people who could out-skill me even at the local level. But I'm not sure that's really comparable, I could always buy more horsepower but it wouldn't necessarily win me races.
