Actually, relative to my ‘82 the third set is on the seat tube. I don’t have those. I have the set on the bottom of the down tube and it’s fascinating to see how precisely placed they are. Changing from the middle ring to the small ring it looks like the chain would hit the cage, but it doesn’t. I do have to use a short bottle to avoid hitting the fender on the front wheel though.
