It is a bike that was sold at Costco. Chances are good that it was originally an impulse buy and then they realized they really don't want to ride. It appears to be for less than 1/2 of the original price. So yes, if you were not going to get too intense into biking it would probably be a good choice. Since it was probably assembled at Costco or by the current owner I would probably take it to a local bike shop (LBS) and ask if someone could give it the "once over".
