There's a peg on the left side about 18" high. Give it a push and step up onto the seat. Experience riding a fixed gear helps a ton cause obviously it's direct pedal. Learning to emphasize your pedal stroke on the down push also helps so you are not rocking the steering back and forth with the pedals. There is no brake so stopping is the trick and stepping back onto the peg when it's going slow enough to run with. It's a blast to ride though.
