The spring and fall shows are different. If you want deals then it is the fall show you want. Bike stores are selling off their excess inventory and there are spectacular deals. The spring show was more about showing new product, very little marketplace items.
With that said I haven't been in a few years so maybe it has changed.
Is it worth going? Well if you like bikes, it is $13 CDN ($10 American) if you buy in advance for a cheap night/day out to go look at eye candy. At least parking is free at the news site.
