From what I understand, the 1UP rack is the original design of the dude that is Quik Rack, and the patent recently expired-- so the Quik Rack Mach 2 is an improved version of the 1UP/Quik Rack, which were basically the same thing.
I'm the guy that starts and finishes 95% of rides in his own driveway, so the notion of a $750 bike rack is still mind boggling. That said, the Mach 2 looks exceptionally well built.
