Yeah, "minty" is an understatement. I have a lugged 730 and a tigged 750 from around that era. Both in great running shape but neither as fresh as yours. Both are awesome to ride. It's fun, when a younger person comments on one, I tell them it was built just down the interstate, their uncle might've worked on it.

Yep, there weren't many manufacturers making frames in the US out of American-made steel, Treks and Schwinns (I have a Chicago-built Breeze myself) are historical artifacts in this country.
