The subject bicycle is a 1986 Norco Bush Pilot, manufactured by Fairly of Taiwan in September 1985. It was 4th a lineup of five ATB models. Lots of items kept the cost down. besides the previously mentioned saddle, post and derailleurs. The frame is only hi-tensile steel, though they did employ oversize tubing. The wheels are nutted. The pedals are plastic. The brakes are Chang-Star knock-offs of Dia-Compe.
WOW! But the quality of the Bush Pilot sure plummeted from what it was when my buddy had his Bush Pilot. He rode it on dirt logging/mining roads in Northern Ontario, Canada and that bike was heavily loaded.
