This is like the time some guy here attacked me as being unreasonable for using math (theoretical nonsense!) to show that pairing an 11-40 cassette with a 30-39-50 road triple might not be a great idea. Any reasonable person would just use certain gearing combos and would never inadvertently make a shift in error. I still regret not enthusiastically agreeing with him and telling the OP to listen to that guy. Seriously, when posting on forums, people will find any reason to have an argument, even if one doesn't really exist.
