Obviously Porte is signing on to play a super-domestique role, but where does Adam Yates fit in? Yates and Bernal as a two-headed threat for next year's Tour, with Carapaz (and who?) riding for the Giro and Vuelta?
I have serious doubts that Adam can make it all the way through a Grand Tour without having a bad day or two. As recently as last year, he seemed to be a credible threat to win stages. Today... not so much. Perhaps he's largely going there to inspire sentimentality?
