Many Road Closures in Anne Arundel/Calvert Counties this weekend

Decided to do a favorite 61 mile loop this week -the "Express Train to Chesapeake Beach" ride that starts in Harwood MD. This loop avoids some of the usual flooding spots along the Patuxent River north of Harwood, but I should have done a bit of research on road closures south of there. But, it had been several days since the localized flooding and my area only got two inches anyway.

Three different road closures due to road flooding damage: Sands Road route of Harwood Rd, Lower Pindell Rd before you get to Rt. 2, and Fairhaven Road between North Beach and Fairhaven. All were walkable, so just some short hike a bike - but many other surprise gravel sections where roads had been washed out. Definitely a much more frequent occurrence with the higher water levels, warmer air/water temps, etc.

Short writeup here.

Anne Arundel and Calvert Counties don't make it that easy to check for road closures but you can zoom in on the State of Maryland CHART site and see the Sands Rd. and Fairhaven closures. The Lower Pindell Rd one doesn't indicate closed, just slow speed - maybe it has been reopened.
