2007 Trek 1000SL for a newbie

Hello. Newbie here so I'm not sure what is considered class or vintage. Anyhow, I am a new rider who currently owns a Trek Marlin 5. I do love the bike but I feel like I need/want a road bike for my impromptu afternoon rides around our area. Anyhow, I found a seller of a 2007 Trek 1000SL in Flare Dualtone color scheme. I know this bike is an entry level bike when introduced with lower-end components. However for my intended usage, I don't think I need to spend more money on something that I really don't "need" so this may be the right thing for me...

Anyhow, the seller is firm on the asking price of $125. I will be traveling on hour this afternoon to check out the bike. Should I still try to ask for a lower price, or $125 sounds fair given that the bike is in "good" rideable condition?

Thank you.
