I did have to replace the right shifter last year. The only 9 speed Ultegra shifter that I could find was used one on Ebay.
Chain gets wiped down and oiled every 100 miles or so. I just use a generic dripless oil from the auto parts store. I use a chain checker to determine when to replace the chain.
