Could be. I usually wear trail running shoes on my Airnimal Joey. Stiffer sole than my Sperry or other deck shoes.
When I bought my MKS Ezy pedals over a decade ago, they did not have an SPD pedal that was compatible with Shimano cleats that I had on my cycling shoes. Thus I bought a pedal that I could use with toe clips, as I used toe clips in the 70s and 80s, am quite used to them.
