I'm in Bristol. The bike club in these parts in Narragansett Bay Wheelmen and has been around since before 1900. When group rides start up again, those rides are a good way to learn the best cycling routes. In the past there has been a club ride every Sunday, usually a choice of say, 35 miles, 55 miles or 75 miles so a ride for every ability. There has been in the past a coffee shop ride Saturday AM from E. Providence to Bristol of 27 miles. In the meantime, until group rides get going again, take a look at the club website and the list of maps for ideas on where to ride. As you can see, just about the entire state has been mapped out for suitable rides.
