That really doesn’t seem bad to me, because I remember buying a new Bridgestone CB-3 in 1988, a bike very much period-equivalent to the Escape, for either $306 or $406– I’m unsure at this distance. Either way, at the cumulative rate of inflation over the past +30 years, even the low $306 price, that’d be a $680 bike today. I’d say you paid a fine price for a good bike!
