There's a lot of bikes in that price range. Go to your local bike shop, and if they have some that you like for that price, support them by buying it there.
If not, look on
danscomp.com and find one there. The DK Cincinnati is supposed to be quite good for the price, maybe start there and compare the other ones you can afford.
