Maybe, you aren't really familiar with bicycling.

The difference in weight between good road bike and a "top tier" bike doesn't really matter. The good road bike isn't really "heavier" in any meaningful way.
If you disagree state why and we can debate. Calling a position ridiculous as a way to discredit it is an ad hom8nen attack.

My experience with cycling spans 50 years and is in several disciplines. As well as recreationally, and commuting, I have ridden for work as both a courier and a rehab assistant facilitating a therapeutic bicycle program. As well as that, my profession is to deliver exercise programs to others.

I agree that the weight difference is not that great. Meaningful in competition but not for general exercise. That's been one of my points all along.
