Good man and smart move! They're interesting platform bikes, i.e., you can adapt them to all sorts of interesting formats. The chrome on mine was sloughing off like a snake shedding its skin, so I wound up sanding it reasonably smooth and slathering on the black Rustoleum - it blends right in! Then I went sans derailleur and created
this bike, currently running 42/44T chainrings with 17/19T Surly Dingle for 70-in fixed pavement and 60-in fixed gravel gears, with 20/22T Dos Eno freewheel for about 60-in leisure and 52-in gentle singletrack capabilities.
